More about the Hygiene Passport:
The Hygiene Passport is a certification of food hygiene competence, aiming to enhance overall food safety. It is required in the food industry to ensure that individuals can handle food safely and hygienically. According to Finnish food law, the passport is mandatory for those handling unpackaged and easily perishable food items in establishments such as cafes, restaurants, kitchens, kiosks, fast-food outlets, grocery stores, daycares, and food manufacturing facilities. Obtaining the Hygiene Passport is necessary within three months of starting a job, including any previous relevant work within the past three months. The passport remains valid indefinitely, unless there are future legal changes.

Prepare for success: We highly recommend thoroughly exploring the key areas of hygiene competence and familiarizing yourself with the vocabulary and terms of the food industry before taking the Hygiene Passport test. Our training 5.4 covers essential aspects of food hygiene, including food poisoning bacteria, food legislation, self-monitoring, and provides insights into the answer techniques for the Hygiene Passport test. Acquire the knowledge you need for success and confidently navigate the test with our comprehensive training. Your pathway to obtaining the Hygiene Passport starts with informed and effective preparation.

Participate with confidence: It is not compulsory to participate in the training, if you have studied the issues beforehand, but it is highly recommended, in order to better pass the test. The Hygiene Passport test comprises 40 true/false statements, and to pass, you need a minimum score of 34/40. You have 45 minutes to answer the statements, and the test can be taken in either English or Finnish. The printing, processing, and mailing of your Hygiene Passport and certificate take approximately 4–6 weeks. Upon approval, receive a temporary certificate via email upon request. Ace the test and ensure your commitment to excellence in food safety!
