GILGAMESH - MORTAL

27.3.2026 19:15

Find the copper box, Grasp the brass lock, open the lid of secrets, lift up the lapis tablet and read, how Gilgamesh wandered through ordeals.

[Open the box and take out a handful of clay.]

Belet-Ili, The Queen of the Gods, had drawn the form of his figure.

From blood and clay, of cosmic underground waters,

He was Gilgamesh, magnificent, fierce.

Two-thirds of him god but one third human.

He explored the ends of the earth in search of life

[Mould a little figure out of clay - the mighty Gilgamesh!]

……

Gilgamesh is the world's oldest remaining epic. Originally carved onto 12 clay tablets over 3000 years ago.

Like the epic itself, Gilgamesh – Mortal guides the visitor, tablet by tablet, through the ancient tale about the purpose of life and the inevitability and beauty of renunciation. The work abolishes rigid prohibitions encouraging to touch the art! It invites you to enter a unique, miniature-sized adventure. Step onto the ancient threshold!

Celebrating transience, Gilgamesh – Mortal offers a gentle, multifaceted and playful space to immerse oneself in the fascinating world of the epic. It allows one to be with the emotions that life’s finiteness awakens in us – hands in clay, literally!

What kind of mark do you want to leave?
