Humor is hard to trace and repeat, hard to dance and act out. Yet once it happens, humor seems to deliver controversy, laughter, irritation and joy all at once. But what is humor and how to approach it in a choreographic process? During the workshop we explore dramaturgical and bodily practices based on the artistic collective Mean Time Between Failure's methods of working and research.
Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) is a performance art duo founded in 2019 by artists Dash Che and Suvi Tuominen. Humor, absurdity and provocations are central artistic methods in the MTBF duo's work. MTBF's works have been seen in e.g. at the UrbanApa festival, Riga performance art festival, Zodiak - Center for new dance and New Performance Turku festival. Between 2023-2025 MTBF works with the support of the Kone Foundation.
The workshop can be held either in Finnish, in English or in Russian, depending on the group.
The workshop is for professionals or professionally working hobbyists in the field of performing or performance art.
