Welcome to hear more about the new flagship supercomputer!

CSC – IT Center for Science Ltd. will give a presentation of LUMI on Tuesday, 6th of October 2020, in the auditorium of Kajaani University of Applied Sciences (Ketunpolku 1, Kajaani). It is also possible to participate in the event via remote access.

The European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC) aims to create a world-class computing and data management research infrastructure in Europe. LUMI is one of the three European flagship supercomputers and it will be located in CSC's data center in Kajaani. 

LUMI will be one of the world's best-known scientific instruments and leading platforms for artificial intelligence for the lifespan of 2021–2026. This will also open up new possibilities for companies to innovate and develop new data-driven business forms.

Join us to discuss how the Finnish research, development, and innovation field can benefit from LUMI and learn about the new technologies! You will also hear about research and education linked to HPC in the Kajaani University of Applied Science and have the chance to visit CSC´s data center. If there are non-Finnish speakers in the audience, the event will be held in English.

12:00 onwards guided tours in CSC´s data center (duration ca. 1h)

Please also let us know in the registration form whether you would like to participate in the guided tour to the data center. Due to security reasons, it is mandatory to sign up in advance. The maximum number of participants per tour is limited to 15 persons. We will organize as many tours as needed. There will be bus transportation from the Kajaani University of Applied Science to the data center and back. We will hand out protecting face masks before the bus ride.
