DESCRIPTION:\nFebruary 7th 2024\, webinar 3/5\, Denmark\nWelcome to a webinar where we will present training and education within nature interpretation and environmental education in Denmark. The webinar will consist of presentations\, discussions\, and workshops regarding central topics on education of Nature Interpreters in Denmark.\nThe webinar is hosted by Nature Interpretation Denmark and Forestry College at University of Copenhagen. We will tell and show examples of how we work with the education of nature interpreters but spice up with exemplary examples. You must therefore bring something from nature to the webinar: Your nature thing’ must represent the following: What is happening in nature around you right now that you feel should be communicated?\nProgram of the webinar\n\n       Welcome and introduction v. Jakob Walløe Hansen\, Nature Interpretation Denmark\n       Historical background and an overview of the educational landscape v. Mette Aaskov Knudsen\, Nature Interpretation Denmark\n       Nature interpretation in a Danish context v Søren Rafn\, Natur Interpretation Denmark\n       Presentation of the two existing nature interpretations educations in Denmark v. Eva Skytte\, Nature Interpretation Danmark and Johanne Lybecker Christiani\, Forestry Collage\n       Break\n       Participate in two different workshops (see below).\n\nWorkshop descriptions\nWorkshop 1: Bushcraft - a pedagogical method for concrete attention to the environment and climate\nMany nature interpreters in Denmark have embraced Bushcraft. Bushcraft can be considered a radical pedagogy as it differs from more conventional teaching methods. It focuses on hands-on experiences and practice. In this workshop we will discuss how this approach can provide participants with an alternative and holistic learning experience that goes beyond traditional school education.\nBy: Johanne Lybecker Christiani\, Forestry Collage\nWorkshop 2: ‘Naturdannelse’- a new concept in Danish nature interpretation\nThe workshop will be an introduction to ‘Naturdannelse’. We will give examples of activities and a debate on how we can use it as a guidance and tool in environmental Education and Nature interpretation in the Nordics.\nBy: Mette Lyngs Ferrum\, The Outdoor Counsil and Rikke Mortensen\, Foresty Collage\n \nWorkshop 3: Evaluation\, reflection and feed-back – different methods that support learning\nThe three terms are used in many ways in the world of education. At this workshop you will get an introduction to how we define the terms and how we work with them when we organize nature interpreters’ education.\nBy: Mette Aaskov Knudsen and Eva Skytte\, Nature Interpretation Denmark\n \nWorkshop 4: Biodiversity - and cooperation between nature interpretors and schools\nIn this workshop\, you will be introduced to concrete examples of how Copenhagen's Nature School collaborates with the managers of urban parks and larger nature reserves to facilitate teaching of biodiversity to schoolchildren and teachers.\nBy: Jaris Bigler and Giuliano Matessi\, Copenhagen’s Natur School\n \nWorkshop 5: Climate interpretation and methods - how do we work with competence development\nOne way to work with competence development in Denmark is through professional networks. The Climate and Sustainability Network is an example of this. In this workshop\, the networkfacilitator introduce the network and activities and give concrete examples of activities for children around climate and sustainability interpretation.\nBy: Maja Birkeland Sell\, Nature Interpreter\nNotice\, that the webinar time mentioned here is SWE/NOR/DEN 1pm-4 pm. What is innovative and what might be the future trends in each country?
