DESCRIPTION:Finnish Freight Forwarding and Logistics Association (FIFFLA) organizes a presentation regarding Russian\, Chinese\, and Iranian Illicit Procurement in the Logistics and Freight Forwarding community.\nThe presentation will detail the methods of subversive shipping\, the U.S. and EU enforcement programs\, risks posed to freight forwarders by foreign governments\, and the development and implementation of effective Internal Compliance Programs (ICPs) to mitigate risks to distribution networks and supply chains.\nThe event will be co-sponsored by FTI Consulting and SA-TU Logistics and will be held as a webinar on Wednesday 8th of June. 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The event will be held in English.\nCharles C. Adams\, Jr.\, will be delivering the opening remarks. Mr. Adams is the former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to the Republic of Finland (2015-2017) and Global Co-Head of Orrick's International Arbitration Practice Group based in Geneva.\nPresenters:\n\nSteve Wilcox\, Managing Director\, served as the former Export Control Officer (ECO) for the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS)\, U.S. Department of Commerce and the senior BIS representative in the European Union and Russia. Steve was also the BIS liaison to the Government of Finland.\nTom Andrukonis\, Managing Director\, served as the former Director of Export Management and Compliance Division\, Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS)\, U.S. Department of Commerce\, provided export control training to global industry\, and reviewed/approved Internal and Export Compliance Programs for BIS.\nJim Huish\, Managing Director\, specializes in international trade compliance including customs compliance\, supply chain security\, export controls\, economic sanctions\, antiboycott and related U.S. and global regulations. Jim has extensive experience advising clients on compliance matters using his supply chain and security background to define and deploy risk-based solutions.\nMika Eloranta\, Director Cargo Handling SA-TU Logistics Oy\, more than 30 years of experience Finnish logistics\, former forwarding manager\, HSEQ-manager\, AEO-officer and former member of FIFFLA customs clearance section.\n\nRegistration for the event ends on Friday 3th of June 2022. at 5 p.m. Teams link will be sent on Monday 6th of June for those who have registered.\nThe event is free of charge for employees of FIFFLA's member companies.\nChanges to the program are possible.\nIf you have any questions\, please do not hesitate contact office (at) huolintaliitto.fi.\n
