DESCRIPTION:What does it mean to put the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and living heritage into practice at the national level or locally among heritage practitioners? Join the LIVIND webinar on December 17 to learn about the key insights our research team gathered throughout the project. During the event\, we will also present the research paper and the policy brief related to the project.\nLIVIND – Creative and Living Cultural Heritage as a Resource for the Northern Dimension Region\, was led by the Finnish Heritage Agency and implemented in 2021-2024. The project aimed to identify and develop policies to strengthen the potential of creative and living cultural heritage to support sustainable development. It brought together stakeholders from public administration\, civil society\, and the private sector from nine countries in the Northern Dimension Region (Denmark (including Greenland and Faroe Islands)\, Estonia\, Finland (including Ă\nland Islands)\, Iceland\, Latvia\, Lithuania\, Norway\, Poland\, and Sweden)\, being the first of its kind in Northern Europe.Since the start of the project\, LIVIND included a research team to look analytically into how creative and living cultural heritage and sustainable development interlink\, to examine past experiences and best practices\, and to contribute to the planning and implementation of the project activities. The research team included the UNESCO Chair on Applied Studies of Intangible Cultural Heritage (University of Tartu\, Estonia) and the UNESCO Chair on Intangible Cultural Heritage Policy and Law (Latvian Academy of Culture\, Latvia). Research activities were conducted using various methods\, such as desk research (including the analysis of project documentation\, legal frameworks\, national contexts\, periodic reports submitted to the UNESCO by the States Parties)\, semi-structured interviews with project participants\, participant observation during online and on-site events\, and autoethnography. As a result\, the now-published research paper addresses the prevailing connection between creative and living cultural heritage and sustainable development in the Northern Dimension Region on the policy level\, in research\, and through concrete actions on the ground. The policy brief further elaborates on the possible ways to strengthen this interlinkage in the future.
