DESCRIPTION:11th Oulu Mining Summit 2026\nThe Oulu Mining Summit will be held during the week of 28th September to 2nd October 2026 in Oulu\, Finland.\nThe event will begin with a two-day side event on EPOS ON from 28–29 September 2026\, followed by a one-day short course on the EIS QGIS Tool on 30 September 2026. The main conference will take place on 1–2 October 2026.\nConference Theme\nMineral Resources and Sustainable Mineral Exploration\nThe conference will focus on the following themes:\n\nMineral resources in the Arctic and recent developments in the exploration industry\nSustainable mineral exploration methods and technology development\nEducation and capacity building in mineral exploration\nEuropean and regional policies and strategies supporting mineral exploration\n\nAbout the Event\nThe transition towards a sustainable and resilient society requires a secure supply of critical and strategic raw materials. Mineral exploration plays a key role in identifying and developing future mineral resources while addressing environmental\, social\, and economic challenges.\nThis event aims to bring together a broad range of stakeholders across the mineral exploration ecosystem\, including:\n\nResearch projects developing innovative exploration technologies\nExploration and mining companies\nUniversities and educational programmes\nRepresentatives from the European Commission\nGeological surveys and research organisations\nRegional authorities and policymakers\nOther stakeholders interested in the future of mineral exploration\n\nThe conference will provide a platform to discuss mineral resource potential\, emerging technologies\, current societal and environmental challenges\, policy developments\, and recent advances in sustainable exploration practices.\nThe event will be organized primarily as an on-site meeting\, with remote participation available through an online connection.\n \n\n
