FinCEED Specialized Training for Education Development Experts is intended for those who have previously participated in a FinCEED training, and/or those who have more than five years of professional experience in education and development, and who wish to strengthen their expertise in the field of global education development. The language of instruction is English, and participation is free of charge for selected trainees.
The training focuses on strengthening professional networks, peer learning, and knowledge sharing across organizations and sectors. A key element is vision-driven exploration of Finland’s current role and future strategic options in global education development towards the 2030s. Through collaborative discussions and practical foresight exercises, participants build shared understanding and capabilities for working in complex and rapidly changing policy and societal contexts.
The training consists of:
- 2 days of contact learning
- 2 hours of distance learning
- Approximately 10 hours of self-study
Selected trainees commit to active participation on all training days listed below and to completing the independent assignments required outside the training sessions. This must be considered before applying for the training.
Selection criteria
The FinCEED Specialized Training for Education Development Experts is intended for applicants who meet all or some of the following criteria:
- Has more than five years of international professional experience in the fields of education and development
- Has thematic expertise or a specific area of specialization relevant to global education development (for example, equity and inclusion, teacher education, digital learning, education systems strengthening, education in emergencies, etc.)
- Has a strong understanding of the Finnish education system and the utilization of Finnish education expertise in global education development
- Has previously participated in a FinCEED training
- Demonstrates a strong motivation in strengthening their expertise in global education development
- Is committed to participate in contact learning workshop in Helsinki, Finland, in October 2026
FinCEED will select the participants based on these criteria. Priority is given for those who are registered in the FinCEED Expert Directory. In addition, an overall assessment will be applied to ensure diversity and complementarity of the training group.

Mandatory for all training participants (2 days of contact learning). FinCEED covers accommodation and meals for the participants during the workshop. However, please note that any travel expenses or daily allowances will not be reimbursed. |
