Hybrid webinar of the Finland-Southeast Asia Business Association and Vision Finland on 13 June 2024
Dear member of the Finland-Southeast Asia Business Association,
The webinar will focus on the crucial topic of geoeconomics in Southeast Asia and provide valuable insights into conducting business in the ASEAN market, covering aspects such as business relationships, culture, and informal practices. The event aims to encourage networking and dialogue between Finnchams and NordChams.
The webinar is a joint effort between the Finland-Southeast Asia Business Association and Vision Finland. Vision Finland is a business media platform for Finnish and Nordic professionals and executives to facilitate their business ventures in Southeast Asia.
The webinar will feature perspectives from two esteemed speakers.
· Prof. Tuomo Rautakivi is renowned in business and academic communities. His extensive experience will provide a scholarly yet practical overview of what Nordic business people should know based on the successes and failures of conducting business in ASEAN countries. He is the Assistant to the Minister of Labour and Vocational Training in Cambodia and the Senior University Lecturer in ASEAN studies at Universitas Jenderal Soedirman in Indonesia. He has also held the position of Visiting Full Professor at the Royal University of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and served as the Honorary Consul of Finland in Chon Buri, Thailand.
· Sanna Selin, Director, Department for International Trade, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland will provide a governmental viewpoint on geoeconomics, focusing on how countries use economic tools such as trade and investment to achieve their political goals and how ASEAN countries respond to the geopolitical rivalry between the US and China.
The webinar will give participants insights into navigating the region's complex business environment. It will present the audience with an outline of the geoeconomic issues and may challenge existing stereotypical beliefs, offering a fresh outlook on Southeast Asian business.
The webinar program starts at 13.00 (Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam time) and 14.00 (Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines, and Singapore time).
