Do you know what kind of services and activities are available in Espoo? Would you like to explore Finnish culture by visiting museums and exhibitions? How about a fun workshop in the toy museum?

City of Espoo, Aalto University, VTT and The WeeGee Exhibition Centre warmly welcome you and your family to join a ‘Hello Espoo’ event!

17:15 – 18:45 Explore what city of Espoo can offer you and your family, Aitio room, EMMA museum, 2nd floor

  • In a mini fair, learn about public services in Espoo, such as Education & Cultural Services, Social & Health Services, Technical & Environment Services and hear about hobbies and activities.  
  • Time for networking and making new friends.
  • Let's enjoy music from talents of international music school :
    • Robert Tobin, flute (Ireland)

    • Anna Leone, guitar (Brazil)

    • Amrita Chakrabarty, indian classical vocal (India)

17:15 – 19:00 The exhibition of the biggest pop star in world – ‘Michael Jackson on the Wall’ & the exhibition ‘Sky of Time’ of the world-famous Japanese artist , EMMA museum, 2nd floor

  • The exhibition consists of almost 100 artworks exploring how Michael Jackson has inspired some of the leading names in contemporary art.
  • Sky of Time is an exhibition featuring the world-famous Japanese artist Tatsuo Miyajima. 

17:15 – 19:00 The Finger Animals Workshop for kids, the toy museum Hevosenkenkä, 2nd floor

  • In the Finger Animals workshop, we make funny animal finger puppets. There are two options: to make the puppets out of cardboard by cutting (recommended for children under 7 years old) or of felt by sewing (recommended for children over 7 years old).
  • The Finnish Toy Museum Hevosenkenkä is a fun trip into the world of toys for the whole family. Have fun!

17:15 – 19:00 The exhibition of 6000 watches in The Finnish museum of horology, 1st floor

  • The Finnish museum of horology is specialized in the history of time measuring, clocks and watches. The collection includes about 6000 watches from 17th century to the present.

17:15 – 19:00 The exhibition ‘A Thousand stories about Espoo’ & ‘The quest of Espoonlahti’ tour , KAMU museum, 1st floor

  • The permanent exhibition ‘A Thousand Stories from Espoo’ takes the visitor from prehistory to medieval times and all the way to the fastest growing city and the happiest city in Finland – Espoo.
  • ‘The quest of Espoonlahti’ is a tour full of activities for the whole family through the Eyes on the Horizon exhibition. It solves the mystery of Espoonlahti!

  • Are you coming to the event by bike? The closest City bike station is right next to us on Ahertajantie.
  • Are you coming to the event by bus? Bus parking is about 200 m from WeeGee.
  • Are you coming to the event by metro? WeeGee is 800 m by foot from Tapiola metro station. Both westbound metro lines from Helsinki’s city centre stop at Tapiola.
  • Are you coming to the event by your own car? Visitors arriving by car can find a parking space in front of the Exhibition Centre WeeGee. The cost of parking is 1 euro / hour. Pay by coin, debit/credit card, Easypark (code 508) or Parkman.
