Midnight Sun Summer School

The annual Midnight Sun Summer School is organised for the second time in Oulu, Finland on May 13th-17th 2019.

Midnight Sun Summer School 2019 aims to enhance the participants’ professional competence.

During a one week Summer School participants will get a chance to learn and to get experience about pedagogical guidelines, practices, methods, tools and learning spaces.

The heart of the course builds on new Finnish Core Curriculum, but is not limited to that.

The emphasis will be placed on Phenomenon-based Learning which has become a norm in Finnish education through the new Core Curriculum.

We are happy to have Dr. Kirsti Lonka from the University of Helsinki to give us two lectures about Phenomenon-based Learning. In addition, we will hear practical experiences from the teachers of Oulu University Teacher Training School how to implement Phenomenon-based Learning with students.

Summer School participants will have hands-on experiences on Phenomenon-based Learning at the beautiful and pure Finnish nature as we will enjoy the Koiteli Rapids on Tuesday afternoon. Our experts will offer you possibilities to do exercises which you can also implement with your own students at your school.

The course fee covers lectures, workshops, lunches, refreshments during breaks, and transportation from the Oulu city centre to the venue and back.

Fee:

Early Bird Fee 790 € + VAT 24 % until April 13th 2019.

Regular fee 815 € + VAT 24 %

Accommodation in Oulu is not included in the course fee.

Participants are encouraged to register in advance and as early as possible in order to benefit from cheaper flight costs.

Registration is binding.
Notifications, amendments and cancellations must be made in writing by e-mail to Oulu University Teacher Training School tts ( a t ) oulu.fi.
The fee for any amendments is 10 € / registration.

Our registration fees do not include VAT 24%.
