MOI! Evaluation for Impact
- Open stakeholder forum for Nordic museum professionals
10th of May 2021 10:30 – 16:45 (all times in CET)
FREE ONLINE EVENT (Zoom)
MOI! Museums of Impact is a European cooperation project that aims to develop a self-evaluation framework for museums, with a people-and impact-oriented perspective. The framework helps museums to critically evaluate their operations, and to develop their capacity to meet the demands of a changing society. The project aims to help museums to increase their impact, by supporting them in evaluating and refocusing their work actively and according to their own strengths and strategies.
The event, which is organised by the Finnish Heritage Agency and the Finnish Museums Association, will focus on the concept of developmental self-evaluation and how it can be used to strengthen the impact of museums in society.
The project is inviting participants to an open stakeholder forum. The third event in the series of six open stakeholder forums will be dedicated to the Nordic museum sector. We welcome all kinds of museum and heritage professionals to participate – we wish to create an open exchange on what the professionals see as crucial interfaces between museums and their impact in society. These views are important to help us build a strong, current, and agile development tool that best serves the museums in their capacity building and impact-oriented management.
The programme includes a short introduction to the MOI! Museums of Impact project and a presentation of the concept of developmental evaluation as a tool.
A round table discussion will gather experts to discuss the power of museums as changemakers in the society and the potential for impact that museums as institutions have today, moderated by Susanna Pettersson from Nationalmuseum in Stockholm.
In the afternoon participants are invited to give their own input for developing the self-evaluation framework in workshops facilitated by the project partners. The discussions will concentrate on different areas for impact of museums.
The event will be held in English.
The Registration closes May 5th 2021.
