Digital Twins for climate, biodiversity and Earth System modeling

11.11.2025 09:00 +02:00 EET - 11.11.2025 16:00 +02:00 EET

Auditorium, Life Science Center

The Digital Twins Technologies group at CSC is organising a hybrid Digital Twin seminar around the theme climate, biodiversity and Earth Systems. Currently, in Europe there are many research activities on developing digital twins to support decision-making on climate change, extreme weather and biodiversity loss. The goal of this seminar is to bring together researchers already contributing to the development of these digital twins, as well as, researchers not yet familiar with digital twins but interested to learn how their models or observations could feed into digital twin development.

Digital Twins are virtual representations of real-life objects, systems or processes. A digital twin uses data from sensors and other sources to simulate, monitor, analyze, and predict the behavior or activity of its counterpart. Moreover, it may connect the physical and digital worlds, to promote informed decision-making and to improve processes and predictions.

For in-person participants there is the opportunity to present their work in oral or poster presentations.
