Pre-screening of After Us the Flood movie

12.11.2024 14:30

What would you do if you had the chance to start over?

Henrik is a brilliant but narcissistic young physicist. At university, he meets another natural talent, Julia. Together, they develop a theory of renewable energy that leads to a fusion reactor producing infinite amounts of clean energy.

In 2060, a post-climate change world is on the brink of annihilation. The UN has developed a form of time travel: human memories can be sent back in time to the person at the moment of conception. In this way, a person is reborn re-equipped with the experiences they have accumulated in the first life.

Henrik is sent back in time with the mission to publish the blueprints of a fusion reactor free of charge to the world in order to prevent climate change. But something goes wrong and Henrik is forced to learn to live again.

After Us the Flood is a time-travelling drama about humanity, friendship and the greed that destroys everything. And the love that would make you change everything

The film is directed by Arto Halonen, an internationally acclaimed director-producer who has tackled important social issues. The film stars an impressive cast of widely experienced and well-known actors, including Linnea Leino, Elias Westerberg, Tuomas Nilsson, Antti Reini and many others.

After Us the Flood will have its world premiere at the prestigious Warsaw Film Festival in October. In early November, the film will also compete for the Best European Science Fiction Film award at the Trieste Science+Fiction Festival.
