Join the discussion on the possibilities of quantum computing in general, and FiQCI in particular. Find out and influence how to best utilise FiQCI in your research!
Time: Wednesday, 11.5.2022, 13:00-15:00
Place: Micronova ("Lehtisali"), Espoo, and Zoom
The event is aimed at a wide audience, from researchers and developers to general stake-holders in both academia and industry. Interest in quantum computing and quantum computers, and curiosity is sufficient, no previous experience with quantum computing is expected.
Quantum computers are remarkably different from traditional computers. The mission of FiQCI is to ease the transition to, and adoption of, quantum computing by providing state-of-the-art quantum-computing services such as computing time and training.
Currently Helmi, the first Finnish quantum computer, hosted by VTT, is being connected with the LUMI supercomputer. This will for example enable hybrid classical/quantum computing, utilising the "best of both worlds" in computational modelling.
The event is hybrid as well, with both remote and physical attendance options. The F2F section will gather in the "Lehtisali" space of Micronova, in Otaniemi, Espoo, the home of Helmi. At the end of the programme, we will have a peek at the actual quantum computer itself. Note that in-person attendance is limited.
The event is organised jointly by VTT, Aalto, and CSC.
Questions and comments can be sent to mikael.johansson@csc.fi. If you have any topics or ideas that you would like to discuss during the presentation day, you can give us a heads-up either when registering or by e-mail prior to the event.
Final Programme:
Please register with the e-mail address of your organisation!
The live attendance seats are quickly being filled up. Cancellations free up seats, and new chairs might be found, so the situation is dynamic.
