Welcome to the course on the Pouta virtualisation environment and the Rahti container platform environment. The course covers the basics of the platforms and how to become a user. No previous knowledge is required.

This is a two day course where the first day will focus on Pouta and the second day will focus on the Rahti service. Day one will cover topics such as cloud computing basics and landscape, OpenStack and Pouta virtual resource basics. The topics will be put into practice through exercises.

The second day will consist of topics such as What is Rahti? Introduction to containers, application templates, web interface, storage, high level Kubernetes architecture and command line tool. Again, theory will be followed by exercises.

The course is run by CSC and the trainer is Joona Tolonen.
Joona has worked in education for almost twenty years and has been using CSC services for a decade.
