We welcome 30 doctoral students selected through a call to participate on-site, as well as the opportunity to participate remotely.
Onsite-participation
Onsite-selected students are expected to stay at Rokua throughout the Mitochondria Summer School and prepare a group presentation in advance. Selected participants will be given a remote info session where they will receive instructions on the group presentation and be introduced to their groups. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the summer school.
Regarding the group presentation, you need to rank the topics based on your interest (1 = most interesting – 7 = least interesting) on the application form (link below). We will do our best to meet your preferences.
We also encourage on-site students to prepare a poster showcasing their work since there will be poster sessions.
On-site students will receive a participation certificate and earn 2 ECTS credits. Credits will be given by the end of June 2025.
Those accepted need to register after acceptance and pay the fee 500€, including bus transportation [Oulu-Rokua-Oulu], food [breakfast, light snacks during coffee breaks, lunch, and dinner], accommodation, participation certificate, and scientific material.
Note that flights and other travel costs are not covered!
The application deadline is Sunday, April 6th, 2025.
Remote participation
There is an option to join online for 85€, which includes access to recorded invited talks and a participation certificate. Remote participants can access recorded expert talks after the event.
Remote participants can receive a remote participation certificate and earn 0.5 ECTS after submitting a learning diary to fibrohealth@oulu.fi by Sunday, June 8th, 2025. Credits will be given by the end of June 2025.
To enhance the online participation experience, you can submit questions to the invited speakers in advance, up to one day before the invited talk. These questions will be addressed during the discussion session following each talk. Registration for remote participation and submitting questions will open closer to the event.
