Mental Health Ribbon Campaign (Mielinauha)

The Vitamin Well Mind Run is the largest event this spring connected to the Mental Health Ribbon campaign. Mielinauha is a campaign by MIELI that raises funds for mental health promotion and crisis work in Finland between April 1 and June 30, 2026.

The annual spring campaign aims to encourage more positive conversations about mental health while raising funds for mental health work and crisis support in Finland. Due to global crises and the economic situation, the need for crisis work and youth mental health support has increased significantly.

Everyone faces difficult life situations at some point—illness, relationship challenges, or the loss of loved ones. In recent years, mental health has also been strained by global instability, environmental crises, and economic uncertainty.

Research shows that mental health can be strengthened, and mental health issues can be prevented and treated. By participating in the Vitamin Well Mind Run, you support MIELI’s mental health work and crisis services in Finland.

You can also take part in the Mielinauha campaign and make a one-time donation at: www.mielinauha.fi

Mental Health in Finland

At least one in five Finns experiences a mental health disorder each year, and one in five will experience depression at some point in their lives. Research shows that mental health can be strengthened, and mental health issues can be prevented and treated.

Promoting mental health and preventing mental health disorders is important not only for individuals but also from a public health and economic perspective.

The need for mental health support is immense.

“MIELI’s goal is to turn the direction of mental health around, ensuring that more people receive support to strengthen their own and their loved ones’ mental well-being, and get help for problems early and without barriers. Preventive work is the most effective, as it significantly reduces the societal costs of mental health issues,” says Sari Aalto-Matturi, Executive Director of MIELI Mental Health Finland.
